iPhone 6 actuality for graphene features

iphone-6-fact-for-graphene-features

The very idea of an iPhone 6 seeing a release date next year with a wrap-around display sounds great on paper, but there is a number of concerns about the strength of such a display and if it could take the impact needed without a case. We looked at the idea of using graphene within the iPhone 6 features to solve this problem, although it seems that this would be highly unlikely for a number of reasons.

You can take a more detailed look at how graphene could help the iPhone 6 improve battery life and certainly make it a lot stronger with a very tough screen. This article through the above link will point you to number of papers and blog posts taking a detailed look at the benefits of graphene.

We took a closer look at where graphene is now and why it might not be on a smartphone for many years. In a nutshell, there are a number of issues in regard to patent ownership and particularly being able to mass-produce say an iPhone 6 with graphene.

The same production problems have been reported with getting flexible displays on smartphones and this is one issue why some analysts believe it will be a while before Samsung delivers a flagship phone with a flexible display. If it becomes extremely popular, like the Galaxy S4 or Note 2, then they might run into production problems with producing enough flexible displays.

We also heard from one of our readers that know a little about graphene and they commented directly on the chances of seeing this technology on an iPhone 6 with a release date in 2014.

This is what they had to say, “Whilst graphene is here right now, its integration into mass produced consumer goods is still quite far away. Think around 10 years or more. There are also some political issues surrounding patents and ownership of graphene”.

Would you like to see an iPhone 6 with a flexible display, or do you

iOS 7 GA, iPhone 5S definite launch date

ios-7-screenshots-3
When it comes to confirming the iOS 7 release date for general availability it doesn’t come much better than Nuance sending an email to developers working on their voice recognition software. This email not only substantiates the previous claim of September 10 being the iOS 7 public release date, but it also verifies the new iPhone 5S will almost certainly launch on this date as well.

The iOS 7 and new iPhone 5S release date will be different thanks to lessons learned in the past about giving too much at once and crashing servers. You can see a copy of the email sent out by Nuance in this article on Owened.

If we are to believe the information contained in the email, then Apple will most likely hold a launch event for the 2013 iPhone at the same time as an iOS 7 release date for public. This is interesting considering last year we saw iOS 6 arrive for download 7 days after the new iPhone 5 event, so that means this year will be different or the email is incorrect.

Owened has published an update to their article since it went live that only adds weight to their iOS 7 release date prediction. They state the email has been removed from Nuance servers, and if this were true it would be expected and only adds to the authenticity.

Do you think the iPhone 5S event and iOS 7 public release will be on the same date? This would be different to last year, but if true we only have a couple of weeks until it happens and invitations should go out in about one weeks time.

There is still hope of an iOS 7 beta 7 but chances of this happening are dropping, so we might only see another beta before Gold Master if a major problem occurs. Some more iPhone 5S pictures appeared yesterday, which revealed a gray color but considering the amount photos leaking showing different colors it’s hard to tell what are real.

The last Apple event this year could be watched via a live stream on Apple TV, and we are guessing this will be the same tomorrow.

Rumors have come in thick and fast this year when it comes to the September 2013 Apple event, Tim Cook and Co will talk about app downloads, iDevice sales etc, and of course chit-chat about the new overhauled iOS 7 public release dates. There are two products everyone wants to hear about and that is the new iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C and these are the mystery players.

Will Apple really launch two new iPhones this year?

The rumors of the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C could be just that, or Apple could indeed reveal these at tomorrows event, the 5S so far to date is speculated to feature a fingerprint scanner, 12 to 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash with the possibility of a gold colored version. The 5C will be a cheaper version with different color variants made with a plastic shell, C is probably for Color and not Cheap, could you ever imagine Apple stamping the word cheap on its devices?

Whilst we sit and wait for the Apple 2013 event to kick off tomorrow please do take a look at the worldwide times of the event here, you may also want to have a little read about iOS 7 public release shocking new users.

iOS 7 available to the public on September 10th according to developer email (update)

After news leaked of Apple's upcoming iPhone event on September 10th, it was assumed the new iOS 7 would be announced at the same time — but now there's proof. Today, a developer named Owen Williams received an email indicating that iOS 7 would be released to the general public on the 10th, giving non-developers their first peek at the controversial operating system. The email comes from Nuance, which works closely enough with Apple to know the date in advance.

The news could also indicate that the release date of the new iPhones will come much closer to the September 10th event itself. Apple could even opt for a day-of release, a move the company has executed successfully with other products, but never attempted with the iPhone.

Update: It's important to point out that if true, this release plan would deviate significantly from Apple's past approach. The company normally gives developers plenty of time to have their apps submitted for a new version of iOS. Further, it has never released a major iOS update on the same day as an iPhone hardware announcement. With this email, Nuance could be referring to the Golden Master (GM) build of iOS 7. That's the finalized, feature-complete version of the OS that Apple has traditionally provided to developers ahead of a consumer rollout.
